This is a very popular salad in my hometown, Monterrey. Every family has their own recipe, but I’ve never had one that I didn’t love. It is mostly served at Christmas dinners because of its festive colors. It is without a doubt everyone’s favorite salad!
What you need to make Ensalada de Manzana
Canned fruit cocktail
Apples. preferably different colors.
Grapes
Greek yogurt
Sweetened condensed milk
Chopped pecans

This salad is mostly served at Christmas dinners. The many colors of the fruit resemble Christmas tree lights. Choose bright color apples and grapes. The more colorful the better.
Store the salad in a sealable container and keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Stir well before serving as the yogurt mixture will thicken.

Ingredients
- 1 30oz can fruit cocktail, drained
- 3 large apples, diced (about 4 cups)
- 1 cup grapes, cut in half
- 1 8oz vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1 14oz can Magnolia Brand sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl add the fruit cocktail, diced apples, and halved grapes. In a small mixing bowl, whisk the Greek yogurt and sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Pour yogurt mixture onto the fruit and gently mix until the fruit is evenly coated. Transfer the salad to a serving plate and sprinkle the top with chopped pecans.
- You can serve the salad cold or at room temperature.
