Air Fryer Whole chicken/Rotisserie Style

Jump to recipe

There is no more store-bought rotisserie chicken at my house. Ever.

My family has become addicted to this Air fryer chicken and with good reason. It is so juicy and flavorful and the skin just crispy perfection. I am not kidding when I tell you we fight over who gets to nibble on the chicken wings. They are that good!

I make this chicken once a week and I love serving it with mash potatoes, mixed veggies and loaf of fresh bread. I also love using the leftovers for salads and tacos. This chicken really goes a long way.

Make sure you read the Tips and Tricks section! There are two very important things to remember when making this chicken.

What you need to make Air Fryer Whole Chicken Rotisserie Style

A Whole Chicken. I always get a 4lb chicken. My air fryer is 8qt big. Make sure the chicken you get fits nicely in your basket

Salt

Pepper

Garlic powder

Onion Powder

Smoked Paprika

Dry thyme

Helpful Tips and Tricks

Leaving the chicken sitting on the counter for 20-30 minutes before cooking it rises the temperature of the chicken allowing it to cook evenly. If you cook the chicken straight out of the refrigerator you have more chances to end up with dry, overcooked chicken.

Always pat the chicken dry to achieve the perfect golden brown and crispy skin.

About

Hello, my name is Marisol Chancellor. I was born and raised in Monterrey Mexico. I’ve been living in Texas for 12 years, and even when I love barbeque, fruit cobblers, and sweet tea, there’s something that has the power of transporting me right back to my mom’s kitchen and gives me a little piece of home; cooking. I grew up in the kitchen and for me, memories are always linked to food, and behind the food, well, there’s always a story that comes along. So, please let me share with you my love for cooking and while we are at it, let’s share some memories, because let’s be honest, we are also hungry for nostalgia.
